Children marked absent with nothing from home to say why. Ring through the list until it’s empty.

Open the call list
Section titled “Open the call list”Three places take you there, all showing how many children there are to ring:
- the number on Attendance in the sidebar;
- the first row of today’s attendance board;
- a line on the Overview.
Ring the family
Section titled “Ring the family”Each child shows the classes they were marked absent from and who to ring: their primary guardian, with their phone number. On a phone, press the number to call.
Record what you learned
Section titled “Record what you learned”Press Record outcome. Choose what the mark should become: usually Excused, Late or Present if the child turned up after all, or Holiday. Write what the family said: who you spoke to and what they told you. It’s the madressah’s record of the call.
One outcome changes the child’s mark in every class they missed that day.
How a child leaves the list
Section titled “How a child leaves the list”Only when their mark changes, or a guardian reports the absence from the parent app. Nothing else clears a child: there’s no “called” or “no answer” to tick. If you couldn’t get through, the child stays on the list so someone tries again.
When the list is empty
Section titled “When the list is empty”An empty list means one of two things, and the screen says which:
- Nobody is unaccounted for, in mint: every register is in, and every child marked absent has a reason from home. That’s the all clear.
- Nobody so far, in amber: some registers are still to take, so a child can still be marked absent. It isn’t the all clear yet. Open the register board shows which.
Another day
Section titled “Another day”The arrows beside the date look back at an earlier day, for any child still unexplained from then. Back to today returns.
