Open the guardian
Section titled “Open the guardian”Go to Guardians, open the parent, and find the Portal login card on their record.
Create the login
Section titled “Create the login”Press Create Portal login. Choose a temporary password, type it twice, and press Create login. The login uses the email address on their record.
Give them the password
Section titled “Give them the password”Tell the parent the temporary password in person or on the phone. Don’t send it in the same message as their email address: anyone who saw that message could sign in.
Tell them how to sign in
Section titled “Tell them how to sign in”They go to app.madrasaty.co.uk, find the madressah, choose Parent, and sign in. The app then asks them to choose their own password.
Signing in to the parent app walks them through it on a phone. It’s a good link to send them.
What a parent can see
Section titled “What a parent can see”Only the children linked to them on their guardian record: each child’s classes, attendance and progress, plus notices sent to parents. Nothing about other families. If a child is missing, check the link on the guardian’s record: see Linking a child to another guardian.
If they forget their password
Section titled “If they forget their password”On the Portal login card, press Reset password and give them a new temporary one. Their old password stops working at once, and they choose a new one when they next sign in.
Require password change at next login is for when they still know their password but shouldn’t keep it, for example if someone else has seen it.
Taking the app away
Section titled “Taking the app away”Disable Portal login stops them signing in. Their guardian record, the children linked to it and all the history stay. Reactivate Portal login gives access back, with the password they had.
