Open the guardian
Section titled “Open the guardian”Go to Guardians and open the adult you want to link. If they aren’t on Madrasaty yet, add them first: see Adding and updating a guardian.
Under Children, press Link.
Choose the child and how they’re related
Section titled “Choose the child and how they’re related”Search for the child under Student and choose them. Type the Relationship to student, such as Father or Aunt.
Choose their Role: Primary, Secondary or Other. A child has one primary and one secondary guardian at most, so choosing either moves whoever had it to Other.
Say what they may do
Section titled “Say what they may do”Switch on Can collect this child if staff may hand the child to them at home time, and Emergency contact if the madressah should ring them in an emergency. Both start switched off.
They’re set per child: the same adult can be cleared to collect one sibling and not another.
Press Link student.
Correcting a link
Section titled “Correcting a link”On the guardian’s record, press the three dots beside the child to change the relationship, the role or either switch, then Save changes.
To make someone else a child’s primary guardian, edit their link and choose Primary. The old primary becomes Other, and you can then change them to Secondary if that’s right.
Removing a link
Section titled “Removing a link”Press the three dots beside the child, then Unlink student, and confirm. Two links can’t be removed, so that no child is left without a guardian:
- a child’s primary guardian: make someone else primary first;
- a child’s only guardian: link another guardian first.
